Those words couldn't be more true recently:
The past six days have been some of the hardest I have ever faced. Thankfully, I have had the support of family, friends, and my amazing husband.

Last Friday we were in Fort Smith for Thanksgiving break, and also my brothers playoff game. My little dog, Lucy, tragically passed away over the weekend and my world literally turned upside down.
She somehow got out of my parents backyard while we were at the football game and someone hit her. My daddy found her on the side of the road - I honestly have never experienced pain like I did last Friday night.

She had been with me constantly for almost a decade and losing her was so so hard on me. She came to college with me, lived with me when I was single, moved all over Fayetteville and then came to Little Rock with me. Tyler asked me to marry him by tying my ring around her neck back in November of 2013. It's crazy how much life we experienced together... I swear pets are family too!

My family and friends have been there to support me and pray for me during this terrible time, and for that I am eternally grateful. Shoutout to my girls for the prettiest flowers, for sweet friends who sent cards and letters, and even brought us over dinner.

I know this isn't a typical blog post, but Lucy was such a part of me that I couldn't move on without a shoutout to my best girl. She was so sassy, loved me more than anything, and always created drama wherever she was. If you met her, she most likely hated you- she even played hard to get with Tyler! I am going to miss her so much, but I am so thankful for all of my amazing memories with her and the family we made together. Her big personality, sweet cuddles and stroller rides will always be missed!

to my sweet girl tootie//I will miss you forever
Of the millions of pictures I have with her, this one will always be one of my favorites. Taken the morning before my college graduation

Flowers + cards from the best friends around

Thanks again for all the prayers, calls and texts! You mean the world to me

Tis the season for fabulous fun and gifts! I love this time of year so much, and I love love love to give gifts. I think gift giving can be so much fun- it always makes me so happy to see someone love something I have given them.

Every year I make a list of all the things I plan on buying... sounds like I should be called Santa! I try so hard to find the perfect thing for each family member and friend. Also, I am not a practical giver - I think life's too short for that! I always like to buy the extra thing someone wants but may have not gotten for themselves. That doesn't always mean it's the most expensive thing on the list, its just finding the perfect little something!

Here are some of my TOP 15 favorite gifts under $100 to give this year

1. TOO FACED  I am so obsessed with this set! I was shopping with mom a few weekends ago and spotted it in Ulta! Such fun palettes and I love their eyeshadows- great gift under $50

2. Y NECKLACE I think this necklace is so pretty! I recently discovered this Canvas brand and it is perfect for gift giving. They have such dainty, pretty things!

3. MONOGRAM EYE MASK OMG OBSESSED! This maybe a gift that's one for you one for me. I love anything monogrammed, and this is such a perfect gift for any girl on the go

4. VOLUSPA CANDLE These candles are some of my favorite. They burn really nice and are super fragrant. Love this gorgeous floral print. I swear packaging is everything, and I think candles make great gifts for holiday parties and get togethers

5. DOCKING STATION Lets be honest... mens gifts are HARD. Every year I struggle to find just the right thing for all my favorite guys. This docking station is perfect for all tech gadgets and keeping a space tidy (hooray)

6. GRACE NOT PERFECTION I picked this book up for myself at Target a few months back, and it would be such a great gift for your best gal. This book is uplifting, and really encouraged me to embrace Grace, not perfection!

7. MENS KEYFOB Perfect pick up gift for the boys. I love needle point, and this fun key fob will help locate the always missing keys!

8. TASSELKEY CHARM Couldn't leave the girls out. I love the classic Henri brown and white stripes, and this bag charm would be the perfect little add on!

9. GOLD WRISTLET Did yall think I would be able to do a gift post without a fun handbag or wristlet?! LOVE this pale gold wristlet - perfect for holiday parties, running to the grocery store, or to just throw in your huge tote.

10. 2018 PLANNER This is the planner I purchased for next year, so this is a personal recommendation! I love the floral print, and I added my monogram to the front.
(ps check out THIS ETSY SHOP where I get all of my monogram stickers)

11. INITIAL BOARD This is such a beautiful hostess, newlywed, or couple gift for the holidays. I love the marble finish with the copper lettering... and at only $36 its a steal!

12.TASSEL SLIPPERS Maybe my favorite thing on this entire gift guide! I mean how cute are these slippers? I love the tassels and the rubber sole- incase you accidentally leave the house in them!

13. PHONE CASE Rifle Paper Co seriously makes the cutest things! I love all of their prints, and I have several of their phone cases. This cutie comes in all iPhone sizes

14. DROP EARRINGS For your best girl who loves to glam it up, how fab are these earrings? I love the pale stones and these would be perfect for a day in the office or a dinner party.

15. MENS NORTH FACE  The best gifts to give are the one's you can see yourself stealing...I may or may not want to snuggle up in this North Face zip. Such a great gift for any guy in your life.

Hope yall enjoy!
Happy shopping friends

THANKFUL Thanksgiving

Every year when Thanksgiving rolls around, I am reminded of how much I have to be thankful for. My job is super stressful during this time of year//its Black Friday I talk about NOT Thanksgiving most days... yikes! This week rolls around every year at just the right time, serving as a reminder of all I have to be grateful for.

Last year I hosted Thanksgiving for the first time. Tyler's family came to our house and I served everyone apps, turkey, all Tyler's favorite sides, rolls and homemade pumpkin pie. I'm the kind of girl that could scrap the whole Thanksgiving feast for chips and salsa, but hubs L O V E S Thanksgiving so I wanted to make it special for him. Also, I jumped at the opportunity to host my first major holiday. I think hosting parties is a lost art... so I'll be busy trying to bring it back!

This year we will be traveling to Fort Smith to have Thanksgiving with my fam. But since the turkey was such a hit last year, we are in charge of the bird again. It's really hard not to be intimidated by a 12 pound turkey in your sink... but I promise, ya got it! I injected my turkey the Sunday before Thanksgiving and spread a homemade cajun rub on the outside- Tyler deep fried it the day of our Thanksgiving feast and it was AMAZING!

Here are some pics of last years
When I was little, my mom would always take me outside to gather pine cones and leaves to make different arrangements. She always made the smallest things so fun! So I incorporated pine cones from my backyard into the table last year!!
I think little personal details make all the difference- so every place setting had a name card with a baby pumpkin for all the guests. I also picked up these adorable napkins at Target and monogramed them with a gold B... again with the little things! (linked below)
PS- This was my pumpkin pie
This years version of my turkey dome can be found HERE
Also, I scored THESE amazing placemats for under $2 each
My crown dessert plates are no longer produced, but you can find a limited selection HERE

I can't believe Thanksgiving is ONE WEEK away! Hope yall get to spend time with your friends and family.

I had actually never been to Brooklyn before this trip. Tyler and I took the L train over to Brooklyn and explored for a little bit. We visited DUMBO- home of this fabulous scenery! We also took the time to walk over the Brooklyn bridge since the weather was amazing, it was so beautiful around sunset.

ps I hate pants- but these are my fav BAM BAM BELLS

The best way to get around the city if you are there for more than a day or two is with a Metro Card. I am not a subway queen by any means, but Apple Maps makes it super easy to navigate. Tyler and I got week long passes for only $33 each and we were able to ride the subway almost everywhere we needed to go.

If nothing else just go to Grand Central Station. Tyler and I stayed at The Roosevelt on a previous trip and its only steps away! This was us last year commuting around

On this last trip we hit it up some of my favorite restaurants in the city! One of my favorite things about traveling is the food-this girl LOVES to eat.

My first stop in the city is sometimes always BROOKLYN BAGEL I visit the one on 25th and 8th. Their hand rolled bagels are actual heaven.

Tyler and I love getting pizza together, and the best place to grab a slice is JOE'S PIZZA
I actually dream of this white pizza at night. Its super low key but a great place to just run in and grab a quick lunch.

For an amazing dinner I suggest strolling up and down Mulberry in Little Italy to find nice restaurant.
Make a reservation for

Beauty and Essex is a pawn shop when you first enter, but then you open a back door to a swanky restaurant that is one of my favorites! The wonton ahi tuna tacos are to.die.for.

Hope to share more fun adventures with you soon! Im outta here for now-

New York is one of my favorite cities, and it just so happen hubs loves it too! This week I traveled to NYC for work and then took a little vacation with Tyler over the weekend. There are always so many fun things to go do, amazing restaurants to eat at, and endless entertainment we never seem to have enough time! This trip was a little different, in that I didn't make any formal reservations for us. It was kind of nice just being able to do whatever we wanted whenever!

This week I was in the city for Market buying product for next May, June and July 2018. I always love market and look forward to picking new product for stores! One of my appointments is close to Bryant Park (see below) so I had a sec to stop by on my way over!
Queen of multi tasking

Bryant park is one of my favorite places in the city. During the Holiday months they set up adorable little tents for vendors to come sell their goods. We went to Bryant park a few times over the week to shop, eat and just hang out!
One of my favorite artist is actually in Bryant park again this fall: I stopped by to see her again and had to share with yall! You can find her work HERE

This time instead of staying in a hotel, Tyler and I rented an Airbnb in the village and it was such a great decision. I feel like I have been to NY a million times, but this past trip I feel like I truly experienced it! This pic is of Tyler and I walking on the high line- we spent an entire afternoon walking around the west village and then walked the high line and sat and talked!

It just so happened that we were in town for the NYC Marathon. This was my first time seeing the marathon and it was incredible. Tyler and arrived just as the winners were approaching the final mile! We were able to help cheer them on, and to see them run such an amazing race was so cool. I will say this day the weather did take a turn//it was really cold and raining

Because I love this city so much, I had to split this into a two part series! Later this week I will post on some of our travel while in the city and my favorite places to eat while I am there. Hope y'all are having a great start to your week.

Yesterday I spent the day heading up to the NY for work, and then a little fun! Later this week hubs and I are going to hang out and spend time in the city. I always make full lists of fun things to do, so when we are there we never waste any time!
Flights from Little Rock are (painfully) early. Since we do not have a direct flight to NY, I have to leave around 6am so I always like to be super organized and ready to go. My skin is always such an issue while traveling- I have super sensitive skin, so I always try to do a few masks and moisturize before flights. I have linked a few of my favorite masks below for you to check out. Each year GlamGlow makes little kits, where you can purchase several masks in mini versions. It is a great way to try out different options! While I am flying, I always make sure I have everything organized. I usually bring a big tote and a carry-on bag to avoid checking a bag... but sometimes it just cant be helped! I like to bring all my cosmetics along with me in flight, and sometimes I even wait and get ready in the airport bathroom or on the plane. I feel like my skin always thanks me when I choose to do that.To make things super easy, I sometimes get lash extensions before going on a long trip. I have a love hate relationship with them! ha They are awesome to get because its so easy to just wake up and go-but the maintenance is a commitment. I actually decided to be in a relationship with them  again yesterday... so hopefully they stay in tact while I am gone! I have added links to the bottom of the post so you can shop all my travel necessities! I included the masks, my favorite in flight eye maks, sunnies and extras! Cant wait to keep yall updated with all the NY fun! Make sure you are following my insta to keep up- I always post stories and pictures there.
