THANKFUL Thanksgiving

Every year when Thanksgiving rolls around, I am reminded of how much I have to be thankful for. My job is super stressful during this time of year//its Black Friday I talk about NOT Thanksgiving most days... yikes! This week rolls around every year at just the right time, serving as a reminder of all I have to be grateful for.

Last year I hosted Thanksgiving for the first time. Tyler's family came to our house and I served everyone apps, turkey, all Tyler's favorite sides, rolls and homemade pumpkin pie. I'm the kind of girl that could scrap the whole Thanksgiving feast for chips and salsa, but hubs L O V E S Thanksgiving so I wanted to make it special for him. Also, I jumped at the opportunity to host my first major holiday. I think hosting parties is a lost art... so I'll be busy trying to bring it back!

This year we will be traveling to Fort Smith to have Thanksgiving with my fam. But since the turkey was such a hit last year, we are in charge of the bird again. It's really hard not to be intimidated by a 12 pound turkey in your sink... but I promise, ya got it! I injected my turkey the Sunday before Thanksgiving and spread a homemade cajun rub on the outside- Tyler deep fried it the day of our Thanksgiving feast and it was AMAZING!

Here are some pics of last years
THANKSGIVING
When I was little, my mom would always take me outside to gather pine cones and leaves to make different arrangements. She always made the smallest things so fun! So I incorporated pine cones from my backyard into the table last year!!
I think little personal details make all the difference- so every place setting had a name card with a baby pumpkin for all the guests. I also picked up these adorable napkins at Target and monogramed them with a gold B... again with the little things! (linked below)
PS- This was my pumpkin pie

Also, I scored THESE amazing placemats for under $2 each
My crown dessert plates are no longer produced, but you can find a limited selection HERE

I can't believe Thanksgiving is ONE WEEK away! Hope yall get to spend time with your friends and family.
