Y'all, it is literally F R E E Z I N G here! I have spent the past week totally bundled up. I have been working most of this week, but I have a long weekend and I am so looking forward to it. Last night I made a nice dinner for hubs and we kicked it at our house (Insta stories for the meal) I love to cook, and every now and then, I think a date night in is so much better than going out. I ran to a butcher Tyler grew up going to and got steaks, made sides, and we had a great evening together. Today we are running errands and then heading over to his families house to celebrate his daddy's birthday and to see his sis and brother-in-law!

This year we are going over to our friend's house to ring in the new year. I am looking forward to just hanging out and spending lots of quality time with friends and family this weekend- and also because I plan on being cozy non-stop! I recently have been obsessed with fuzzy pullovers and I have a few staples in my closet! I just bet I wear all three (linked below) over the long weekend :)

So PS I have been stalking THIS Asymmetrical Pullover for months now. It is finally back in stock and so so cute on! I am normally a small or medium, but I sized up for a medium and it is a great fit. I have a thing for anything white or cream and love pink, so this was perfect. It is also super cute with the olive details.
Tyler and I went on a coffee date this afternoon -the place was so so cute! If you are local check out Meteor
DENIM // FUR POM Currently on sale for under $30 // NIKES // SUNNIES

I also have THESE pullovers from Impressions! I own the blush and the white version (one in a large and one in a medium) They are mostly out of stock right now, but they are really great about re-stocking items! I worked at this store for years, during and after college, and still love shopping there.

Hope yall have a fun and safe New Years!!
I have been working on a shopping sale guide I will post soon- because who doesn't love a great NY SALE?!

I am sure y'all are feeling the same, but it's been C R A Z Y lately! We have been so busy with work and all the hustle and bustle of getting things done; it has been so nice to come home and just relax. This is such a busy time of year for me at work. Some days I wake up and just wonder how in the world we are only days away from Christmas! Everyone always says there is no place like home for the holidays and it is so true! Tyler and I hit the road Friday after work to come home and spend a few days with my family before we head back to Little Rock to spend time with his!

Since we arrived in Fort Smith, we have spent time hanging out at the house. My sister, mom and I  have been baking non-stop! Yesterday we baked our favorite peanut butter blossoms, pies, cakes, cookies and chocolate covered pretzels. The list literally doesn't end- I even made homemade spiced jelly! When I was little it was a "must" every Christmas- so for traditions sake we made it again this year. It was so fun to spend time in the kitchen with all my favorite people. I spent all day in my pajamas- I mean who can complain about that?!
One of the cutest things we made was this pine cone cheeseball
I uploaded a video of mom putting all the little almonds on, just so cute! I will include the recipe for yall below (thanks Ang) - it really was so easy to make, just takes a little patience to put all the almonds on.

My pajamas are sold out, but I have linked another cute print on sale for under $40

Hope yall are having the best Christmas weekend, and making the best memories. Follow along with my Insta stories for all the fun family baking!

Tyler and I are so excited because we have booked a trip to Italy. MERRY.CHRISTMAS.TO.US. We are going to be traveling in just nine weeks! This was a last minute decision, but I am so so excited. After little Tootie passed away, I was so sad and lonely; so, Tyler decided I needed a project. I absolutely love to plan trips, so we decided to get away. It has been so much fun to plan the trip and get everything organized.

Last year, around this time, we were planning our trip to Europe for June. Obviously June is an ideal time for a European vacation, but we decided we couldn't wait. We have both always wanted to go to Italy, so we booked a ten day trip for February! I have started doing research on weather, and traveling during off season. It seems like there are obvious benefits to traveling during non-peak season//fewer people, shorter waits, cheaper accommodations - so it should be fun!

Since neither of us have ever been, I have been reading anything I can get my hands on. This is how I planned our trip last summer, and it definitely paid off to have done the research ahead of time. I would L O V E it if yall had any feedback or suggestions to send our way. I love getting suggestions from friends!

I have literally posted up in our living room to research and book everything for our trip. From booking hotels, to Airbnbs and flights, I am doing it from this little cozy spot

Here is what we have on the books so far//
Flying out of NY (JFK) and into Germany. We have a quick layover in Frankfurt, and then we will fly into Rome.

ps if you live in Arkansas, or a "flyover state" I always suggest looking to book your round trip tickets out of a different place. Our big vacation this past year was booked out of Boston, and this trip to Italy will be out of New York. Normally you can find much lower airline rates flying out of a big city (on the coast) and can just book travel from your local airport to the airport you will be traveling from. This does take a little research and patience when booking, but can save you SO MUCH MONEY! I always use THIS website to search for flights, because you can filter locations easily.

We are planning on staying in Rome for three nights, one of which we will celebrate hubs 28th birthday!! We haven't decided if we are going to take any day trips from Rome, so if you have suggestions hit me up!

Then we are going to train from Rome to Siena, and spend a night in the Italian countryside, then head to Florence... I am over the moon excited to visit Florence. I love art, and have always dreamed of visiting. We are also planning to spend three nights in Florence- and are open for suggestions there as well.

We booked our return flight out of Milan, so it will be our last stop. We are going to travel from Milan to Lake Como and visit Switzerland for a day before we head back home.

If you have been to Italy or have any great suggestions, seriously CALL/COMMENT/TEXT/EMAIL me! For now, I will just be reading all the RICK STEVES books I can find, and pinning my little heart away.

I say it all the time but I SERIOUSLY have the best friends and fam around. This past weekend I kicked off what I've so lovingly deemed my "F A R E W E L L TOUR" I was feeling so anxious to turn twenty nine, because who wants to leave their twenties?! So I decided to call it what it is, and I'm hoping for the best farewell tour

My twenties have taught me so much- I've loved and I've lost. I have grown leaps and bounds, graduated from college, fallen in love and gotten married, started a career, and am all so much better for it now. I have chased dreams//yall I started my blog, traveled the world and can't imagine my life any other way. Everyone always says college flies by, but then they forget to mention that so do the rest of your twenties. I'm so thankful for where I am today, and I can honestly say I wouldn't be here without my people.

I was able to celebrate the birthday weekend with my family, and all my best friends from college! On Friday I got to work and all my co-workers decorated my office and made me feel so special! That night, Tyler and I hit the road and traveled home. We spent the night at my parents and were able to go have lunch with my fam Saturday afternoon. Also, blessings because I was able to go get my hair done while I was home...theres not much better than that! One of my best girls got married this weekend, and so I was able to kick of 29 just like I did 20, with all my best girls around! We traveled up to NWA to celebrate at Crystal Bridges. The wedding was at 21C and that is where we stayed, and it was a m a z i n g! If you have not been to Bentonville to check it out, you need to go

Here is one of my favorite pictures from the weekend//

We were giggling so hard, because this is a bathroom selfie!! The lighting was soooo good we just couldn't resist. I know its not the best quality, but I figured yall would give me a pass on my birthday!

With my FAREWELL TOUR in full swing, I have really been reflecting on the past few years, and looking forward to the future. I made a list of all my top experiences this past year, it remided me to be so grateful for what I have- and I can only hope for another year like the last.
I thought I would share a few of my favorite memories from this past year
  • T R A V E L was at the top of the list! This past year I traveled all over Europe and to New York, West Palm Beach, Nashville, Boston, Connecticut, Waco, Perdido Key, Utah, Birmingham, Dallas, Las Vegas, Tucson, and of course all around the beautiful state of Arkansas
  • Also, that leads to two of the best weeks of my life- when Tyler and I romped around Europe for fifteen days- there is a mini post on those adventures HERE
  • I joined a book club, and have met the best girls! I am also a reader these days, so shocking if you know me
  • Tyler and I got super involved with our church, and joined small groups
  • Because of that, we met our best friends in Little Rock- all the praises for that
  • We renovated and totally remodeled our master bathroom, out of necessity, but still! Love it now
  • Got to welcome my sissy home from the World Race, an nine month mission trip all over the world and move her back up to Baylor
  • I launched XOBARNETT a dream of mine for six years... hooray for finally achieving my goal!
  • Got a few of my besties engaged and married, even welcomed new babies into the world
  • Spent weekends with our friends and family, making memories we will never forget - including a million ball games cheering my brother on! I can't believe its his senior year of high school
  • Bought a new whip when we got home from Europe, so I spent the summer cruising around
  • Attended my ten year high school reunion, still not sure how thats possible
Hangin in NYC
Just one of the beautiful new babies I got to meet (WPS)

Love of my life in Germany

Finding all the cuties at handbag market in NY
That dang 10 year reunion, with my best girl
Hubby and I in London Town
Lovers on a little red vespa in Paris

Above all I am just so thankful I was able to do all the things with my hubby. This past year he has been my biggest cheerleader, pushed me to achieve things I didn't know where possible, has loved me unconditional, and has been there through some really hard times. I am so grateful for his constant love and affection!

Cheers to another great year, more fabulous adventures and making this the greatest FAREWELL TOUR of all time

I look forward to Christmas cards EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR.
I love to send mail, and there is just something magical about a Christmas card.

Our first married tradition was the CHRISTMAS TREE - I quickly followed up with the Christmas card!
Each year we have photos taken and I find the perfect card to send... I then spend hours addressing, stamping, and adding all the extras.

This year, when we were in Paris, we had pictures taken with Christmas cards in mind. I am so happy we have them to cherish and look back on.
For the past few weeks, I have been working on the card design and layout.
I am finally getting my snail mail out tomorrow

I have custom stamps from the fabulous PRAIRIE LETTER SHOP - Alex has been making stamps for me since our engagement back in 2013

Can't wait for these to be in your mailbox
This year I used a simple red script for addressing the cards
To get the embossed stamp in the top left corner of our envelopes, I used ZING glitter finish with THIS heat gun. This process is time consuming, but totally worth it if you ask me!
I always seal our Christmas cards with our address stamp and fun washi tape!

Cheers to happy mail & my favorite time of year

Today, Tyler and I loaded up in his truck and visited a local Christmas tree farm. I never grew up with a real tree (because allergies), but Tyler was determined to make it a "married" tradition. With a little research, we found a tree hybrid called a Leyland Cypress. They don't produce pollen and aren't super fragrant- so we both win!

Each year, Tyler drives us out to the farm and we spend forever finding the perfect tree...seriously we walk up and down the aisles forever! Once we find the perfect tree, Tyler cuts it down and we load it up in his truck to bring home- its always so much fun!

Currently can't live without THESE leggings. And I am loving THIS festive scarf!
yayyy! Here I am with our perfect tree

I normally have all my decorations up by the weekend of Thanksgiving, but that just didn't happen this year!
Here are a few of my favorite rooms in our house during this time of year//
The mantle always holds my homemade ornament garland- this is so easy to make! Purchase lots of ornaments you like, then string on wire! I have had mine for years, and still love bringing it out!
I swear there is just something about a classic Christmas tree. I have always had crazy over the top trees, but since Tyler and I have gotten married I have come to appreciate old school lights on a real tree. This year, while we were at the tree farm, I also asked for pine branches :) I used the scraps to make a beautiful garland over our entertainment center.
Love this place we call home!
This table is behind our big couch in the living room. I filled a glass bowl with all of our favorite COTTON COLORS ornaments- we get a new one each year! Also, another MARK ROBERTS fairy and a cute MELSYS illustration completes this table.
This is our front room. It's mostly an office but we also entertain in here and keep our instruments...
ps no I'm not any good at piano, but practicing!
Our entry way is always festive!
The front porch needed Christmas spirit too! This was an older Christmas tree I don't use anymore, so I flocked it and put in a fun red topper. I made bows for our front porch lights, and also this cute wreath a few years back. I finished the front door off with more of the left over pine branches- they are just tied together and finished with a bow!

I hope yall are all enjoying this time of year! Have fun decorating
