Any excuse to celebrate a holiday filled with pink, all the hearts and L O V E sounds like a good idea to me! I am notorious for sending more snail mail than anyone my generation, but it's something that's a lost art! I mean who doesn't love to get something pretty in the mail?! As I am learning how to "adult" I realize why my parents were never so excited to get to the mailbox...when you get older it's all bills or things you don't even want to open, unless there is a little surprise from a friend!

You do not even have to be crafty to achieve a fabulous Valentine/GALentine day card! My mother claims she isn't crafty at all (lies, I know yall saw her Holiday table HERE) but; nonetheless, I just always tell her you got this- just pick up all the things you like. I think this is true in decorating, designing or even making a little valentine. If you select all the things you like, it will come together perfectly!

Most of my supplies are just picked up from "The Spot" at Target. Can I get an amen for that?!
I love to stroll into Target on lunch, and I always find the cutest things to use. Other things are from my local craft store (Hob Lob / Michaels) or linked below.

The key to achieving F A B valentine is simple:

Pick up as much pink and red as possible
Find a card base//something you can use to write your message on
Look for a glitter or fun lined envelope for an extra pop
Don't forget to grab stickers and sparkles
Cute washi tape makes everything better
Add little sass with a custom return stamp
Grab some ribbon, sequins and twine
Find a fun filler for your card- a SURPRISE when its opened
Seal it with a kiss and a cute stamp

Here is a look at all of my supplies I gathered for the
2018 V A L E N T I N E ' S CARD
Once I have collected all of my supplies, I get to work!
I always come up with a cute saying or fun quote for the home-made cards.
Again, you don't have to be super extra with this... sometimes I just write Happy Valentines Day :)
Once you have written out your cute love note, wrap a little string or twine around the card and stuff it in your envelope. Once the card is in the envelope, fill it with sequins, glitter or foam hearts! Just whatever your heart desires
The final step is to address your card. This year I chose to highlight the name and write out the address in a different color ink. I put cute hearts between each zip code number for a fun touch. Complete your valentine with a cute stamp and address return! ps- I always make an extra to keep so I can remember what I did the next year. Its so fun to look back on!
Since I have been up to this for so many years, I thought I would show off some previous work. As you can see, each year is a little different, but always the same concept. I got very fancy and even added a wax seal a few years ago!

Snuggled up in my new favorite sweater has me wishing the weekend wouldn't end.
This past week has been crazy! Tyler was traveling literally all week for work and so I did my best to keep myself occupied the entire time he was gone. He spent four days down in New Orleans for a work conference and training. He came back Thursday night with a King Cake in hand, thanks to his precious grandparents! I have managed to only eat two slices so far //I truly consider that a win.

Anyway...How is it I am 29 and still afraid to be home alone?! please tell me y'all understand
So Monday, my mom came up and stayed with me - we got dinner together, went shopping together after work, then were able to hang out that night. We went and grabbed lunch together Tuesday afternoon before she had to head back to Fort Smith. Lucky for me, my brother also had a game about an hour away on Tuesday night, so I drove to see him play! He had an amazing game that night, so I am so pumped I was able to be there. I rounded out Tyler's work trip absence by hanging out with my girlfriend on Wednesday night, we had such a fun time. She came over after work and brought sushi and we had a girls night // how fun is that?

This week is the first week all month that Tyler and I will both be home together for almost the entire week, and I am just so excited. We have spent our weekend together trying to catch up on everything, including sleep! We got out and ran around a bit, but for the most part we spent our weekend at home, which was a nice change of pace.

So I have been wanting this sweater all season long, and finally pulled the trigger a few weeks ago... let's just say I should have treated myself earlier! This sweater is so cozy and I am loving the adorable sleeve details. It is super transitional as well, I am wearing it with ripped skinnies today, but also wore it to the office this week with a lace skirt. It just went on sale as well, so scoop it up for those cold days! Also on my list of things I have wanted are these adorable fur pom shoes! They were also just marked down, and so cute with jeans or dresses. I have linked both below (as well as all other outfit details) so you can shop them from the links

Here are all the details on the outfit:

Home Sweet Home - I have been out traveling so much the past two weeks! I always love to travel and don't turn down the chance to very often, but there is always something wonderful about finally being home. This past week I was in Savannah - and FYI it's absolutely stunning! I fell in love instantly. I called hubs and told him we had to come together ASAP! The Spanish moss and gorgeous old town had me swooning.

Anyway, since getting back home, I have been on a mission to clean the house! A few weeks ago Tyler and I went to IKEA and since, I have officially hacked everything and set the house with my new finds. Tyler and I both have a bedroom in our house; we laugh and say it's what makes for a good marriage. His room has a big tv and gaming things, and mine is filled with all of my favorite things. It's essentially just a room for our furniture we brought into the marriage :) Mine has been on my to-do list since we moved into our house, but obviously wasn't the first priority!

My room is filled with all my books, my makeup, and favorite things I have collected over the years and all the girly details I love. I use my room to get ready each day, relax and read a book, and also to blog! When we went to IKEA, I made a list and checked it twice with a few things I knew my room needed for final touches. I scooped up a hanging rack, so I could organize all my clothes I need to pack, wear soon, or even shoot for the blog. It was so boring and white, so I added a little gold spray paint to make it pop//see below. I also knew a new lighting fixture would change the game in here. I found this amazing shade with rose gold interior, and I sweet talked my husband into wiring it up for me! I love the gold aura it gives off when I turn it on!
PS you can find the Nymo lamp shade HERE

I think a cozy bed is the most important thing! I love to stack pillows and layer different fabrics and textures together! You can find my quilt by clicking  HERE //currently on sale
And my pink throw at the end of my bed is HERE I love it so much I also have it in my living room in cream
All artwork in this little corner is from MELSYS //White frames are RIBBA from IKEA
My pillows are mixed and matched as well! You can find my Monogramed Euro pillows HERE
The others with yellow accents are from Echo Designs THROW PILLOW // EURO // Full Set HERE
This is a shelf I picked up from IKEA - You can find it HERE
This Draget Shelving unit had a glam makeover by applying THIS MARBLE contact paper! I was so excited to get a shelf in this room for all of my book club books, and fun things I have collected over the years! Tyler had my bouquet from our wedding painted for our first wedding anniversary, a gift I will forever treasure- found on the bottom shelf! I also love to frame a good card, and thats exactly what I did with the London print on shelf two - I found the card at Harrods from our trip last summer!
This is a vintage desk I painted back in college and have been using as a vanity since! I store all of my makeup and most of my jewelry in all the drawers :) Although I hung up my pointe shoes over a decade ago, I always keep them close! I am such a sentimental and nostalgic person :) PS: I ordered this gold bench from Kirklands and I have loved it- you can find it by clicking HERE
For a fun large print frame wrapping paper! I am obsessed with RIFLE so I framed one of the wrapping paper prints they sell by the sheet! I am also obsessed with vintage things, and found this gorgeous vase awhile back! I knew it had to be mine when I found it - filled it with succulents for a double bonus!
Here is my fun clothing rack! I taped off both sides and added a little gold spray paint for a quick upgrade. The rack is under $10 and was just what I was looking for! This is such a quick and EASY IKEA hack! Mulig rack can be found HERE  My vintage Dooney & Bourke trunk is showing off, and those are all fun clothes and cute shoes I am pulling together!

My room is painted Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams - It is one of my favorite colors! It is in all of our hallways and is so light and airy. I have had a blast putting this room together and I hope you loved the mini-tour! I have done my best to link things, but if you have any questions let me know
Happy Sunday Friends

I spent my week traveling for work and I am finally back home! I won't lie, the warm weather was more than welcomed. I was in California, Las Vegas, and the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. PSA Scottsdale is beautiful and it's on my short list of places for me and Tyler to visit on a long weekend. Meanwhile, I will be in Arkansas for the next few days and I am hopeful for some sunshine here soon!

Everyone at my office jokes that I literally never wear's just not really my thing. I love a cute dress, and to be honest, most of my work wardrobe is all about dresses. Major exception comes with the bam bam bells from MuMu. I own these pants five times over because they are that fabulous. All bam bam bells are super comfortable and in my opinion the cutest. These velvet bells are perfect for the winter! Paired with a tunic, sweater, or an off the shoulder top for when I am not at work these little cuties are my go to!

You can find my favorite pants by clicking HERE //wearing size small
My tunic top is HERE //wearing size small
SUNNIES // Similar bag HERE

Hope you enjoy your weekend!
Tyler and I are both in Little Rock this weekend, just hanging out. We are doing some preliminary research on becoming dog parents again :) If you have any information on King Charles Cavaliers let me know! We are currently looking for breeders and puppies who will be available this Spring. I posted on Facebook for recommendations, and also to let everyone know they lied when they said it would get easier after Lucy passed away. I think I am ready to bring home a little fur baby before too long, maybe even sisters...

This year for Christmas we booked a trip to Italy (read all about it HERE) so for gifts we promised to just fill each others stockings. It was actually super fun coming up with little treats that could fit into his stocking. I filled it with his favorite candy, a few small treats, and a trip to Memphis with tickets to a Grizzlies game! I had to text my brother first, to see if they were playing anyone good. Once I got his approval, I planned a little weekend getaway for Tyler and me. We have been to Memphis a few times, but after this weekend we decided we should go more often!

There was an 8:30 game on Friday, so we traveled to Memphis after working Friday. It's only a two hour car ride from LR to Memphis, but the traffic was crazy! Thankfully, we were able to get to our hotel and check in before heading to the game. We stayed downtown at the Hilton DoubleTree, and the location was perfect! We were able to walk to the game from our hotel, and just keep the car parked in their garage. The game was a blast, and we had so much just hanging out together. I found our tickets on Ticketmaster, and it turns out our seats were right next to season ticket holders- they were calling all the players by name and had us laughing the entire time!

Selfie at the game, because who stops to take a real pic?! jk we tried and it turned out terrible

The game ended late, so once we got back to our room we were able to sleep in. Saturday we woke up for coffee and a small bite to eat before heading to IKEA. One of our friends is from Memphis, and she suggested this cute little coffee shop down town. It's really low key, but honestly that was kinda nice. PTL for some reason Tyler suggested (ok actually asked if I wanted to) go to IKEA. Of course I did!! I love a good IKEA hack, and I hadn't really been since mom and I went a few years back. We arrived, and were doing great, then all of a sudden Tyler wanted it to be over, lol. We were only on aisle 13 of what then felt like 3,000. We did survive, and I came out with some amazing things!!
lol @ our selfies this weekend!! Post coffee date, Pre-IKEA meltdown

After IKEA we hit up some local BBQ before heading home. Tyler had been researching top local Memphis places, and he took us to Central BBQ. It was so yummy- like the Mac-n-cheese was to die for. As we were walking in, I looked up and recognized where we were. We stumbled onto the Lorraine Hotel, infamous for the assassination of MLK JR. We both really love history, so that was so fun to find!
Here is a sneak-peek of my Insta-stories highlighting our Memphis weekend

Literally, since we have gotten home, I have been working non-stop in the house- until we lost power! I was so excited to work on all my projects and post on my blog, and unfortunately we lost power last night. Thankfully it happened after I hung the last picture up on the wall and once the Saints game had ended! We are back in business now and I am so excited to show yall all of my IKEA hacks and fun things I found this weekend!

Hope you survived your MONDAY

Happy 2 0 1 8 friends
I have spent the week getting back into the groove of things and I am currently living for the weekend. Tyler and I are taking a little road trip tomorrow, and I could not be more excited. We always joke that we are "weekend warriors" because we are constantly on the go and always love taking fun trips together! Anyway, I thought I would share my new fav sweater and boots, perfect for this chilly weather!

All the praises for sweater weather. I love a good oversized sweater, and I was obsessed with the sleeve details on this one. It comes in six colors, but I was loving the winter white. I went shopping Monday and purchased this sweater and seriously could not wait to wear it!
It has been so so cold, I have been bundled up non-stop. I am not kidding when I say I think today is the first day it hasn't been below twenty degrees outside. I am sure it is just because I am from the South, but I totally believe that if it is this cold outside THERE SHOULD BE SNOW on the ground. Not that I can operate in it, but just sayin!

These boots are so popular they have already sold out from Nordstrom since I got them for Christmas!! I found them on the retailers website and linked to shop below. They are currently on sale- I love the fit of these boots. Most OTK boots have a slouchy fit, but these are nice and tight around my legs. Also, the top has a functioning drawstring so they can be cinched up.

You can shop my boots by clicking HERE + My sweater is in stock and on sale HERE

Hope yall are staying warm!
Blog post will be coming soon with our fun weekend details
