As October comes to an end, it marks one year on the calendar of blogging here at XOBARNETT
scheduling my first post back in October of 2017

I launched my blog just over a year ago today and I’ve never been so thankful I finally followed my dream! I never in a million years would have guessed this little blog would turn into what it has- I’m now hundreds of miles from friends and family and this has kept me in touch (and re-acquainted me) with so many friends and family members!

 So... what’s changed in a year?! How about E V E R Y T H I N G.
I have spent the past few days reflecting on how much has changed and how grateful I am to be where I’m at now. I never would have dreamed things would be like they are now, but I wouldn’t trade what I have for anything. In honor of my one year blogiversary I compiled some of my best memories and favorite posts over the past year! So thankful to have this dedicated little space on the internet to look back on some of the best times and times I will never forget

Launch + my first fashion post on the blog. PINK PERSONALITY was a snapshot of me and my love for fashion + the first time I got to share details on styling and my love for the color pink.

My first travel guide and post since launching the blog! Tyler and I visited New York together and I was able to document all the details in a series of 3 posts. My favorite posts were PART I & PART II

Looking back now I am so glad Tyler and I took this trip together. I was really "on top of my game" so to speak at work, he was doing big things, and we were making plans for the future!

The moment I posted about LUCY passing I knew this blog was going to become so much more than I ever dreamed of. The outpouring of love and support was unbelievable and something I am still to this day so grateful for.

A very special trip to the TREE FARM and a holiday tour of our home decorated is so fun to look back on! I miss this house and I know as the holiday's approach I will miss it even more- so I am glad I have pictures of it!
Sharing our family traditions, all of my snail mail, fun trips and memories filled my December posts! It is one of my favorite months to look back on in the entire blog.

Two of my favorite fashion posts on the entire blog came in the month of January.

Tyler would meet me on lunch and take pictures for me in the freezing cold! I knew he was a keeper long before that, but this confirmed it.

I also shared lots of snail mail love in January with how to DIY Valentines and took you on a tour of my guest bedroom/office filled with IKEA hacks! At the time, it was one of my most viewed posts. I remember being so excited to share home decor as well as fashion and travel with yall.

March is when life turned upside down! We had just gotten home from a fabulous TRIP TO ITALY, our Cavapups arrived, and we announced we were MOVING TO DALLAS
Looking back at this month on here just gives me anxiety, lol but it also brings back the happiest memories! We also were getting ready to list our first home and I got to share a post with the BEFORE & AFTER transformation it went under!

In April we traveled for several weddings, visited family, and welcomed the TWINS to XOBARNETT
I will never forget trying to take photos for the Milly & Beaux blog post, lets just say they kept it exciting!
I also was able to work with one of my favorite photographers on a BRIDAL styled shoot in April. It was a milestone for me and for the blog - something I won't forget!

The best news dropped on my blog in MAY! It's no secret we came home with the best souvenir from Italy and we announced that we were EXPECTING BABY BARNETT
Also, we were settling into life here in Dallas, dealing with our apartment flooding, and just attempting to train two crazy pups!

The best surprise of my life came when we announced Baby B was a SHE!
I also posted my first "bumpdate" blog post and details on how we were doing and that I was going to make her a few cute outfits...
In June I also launched my first KITCHEN DIARIES series. It was fun to incorporate another thing I love into the blog with this launch!

In July I traveled to see family and friends, continued sharing favorite recipes and shared another Bumpdate. This month Ella Jane was given a NAME!

To look back on August now I can breath a sigh of relief... but living this month in real life was another story!
I was able to share lots of fun updates and exciting things with the pregnancy- like hitting the THIRD TRIMESTER and getting to show off some of the cute things I had CREATED for Ella Jane.
But this month also came with lots of hurdles- I shared a very personal journey on the blog in a two part series. In August the blog became more to me than I could have imagined- you loved us, prayed for us and supported me and Tyler and our growing little family!
I entitled these posts When Life Gives You Lemons...
Tyler was diagnosed with a tumor that required brain surgery and total loss of hearing in one ear. These posts are a real-time recap of life as it was and now I could cry just re-reading them today. I look back now and know God had this in his plan when I finally took the leap of faith and created this blog a year ago. It may sound silly, but this became a means of communication and way to share our journey with others!

Bumpdates and celebrating sweet Ella Jane took over the blog in the month of September!

I am so thankful for this journey, this blog and for you...
Keep following along to see where life takes us, for fashion and travel inspiration and for life as we know it

Somehow, we are now less than three weeks away from meeting Ella Jane. We have been in a mad rush to get everything finished and have made the list and checked it twice :)

I have honestly loved most of pregnancy; it feels like such a gift to be able to carry our sweet girl and I am getting so excited to meet her. Tyler and I had pictures taken recently and honestly I was a little nervous because I was am S.O. PREGNANT!! but I am SO glad we did them! Seriously, they are some of my favorite pictures of me and Tyler ever! We are celebrating such a sweet time in our life, and I know I am going to love looking back on this for years to come.

Here are just a few of our favorites...

L  O  V  E
Tyler and I have been checking in with my doctor weekly and this past Friday he told us
"See ya next week, unless I see ya before" C R A Z Y we are getting so close! She could seriously come any day now.

So lucky to be in love with this man! Cannot wait to see him as a daddy

ps: found this dress tucked away in my closet... I wore it on our honeymoon over four years ago! So special that I was able to find it and be able to wear it again
Ella Jane, we cannot wait to be your parents!

So here is my best advice:
If you are on the fence on taking pictures... always say YES
If you are in the Dallas area I have the best photographer!
We worked with Becca and she did such an amazing job and made us feel so comfortable and at ease. (PS. It's not an easy when you have a huge bump) You can contact her & follow along with her Instagram account linked below:

H E L L O thirty five weeks! We are just one month away from Ella Jane's arrival and Tyler and I are getting so ready to meet our girl! Bring on all of the to-do lists, planning and final nursery prepping!
Five weeks ago, I took pictures in the same dress and in the same spot and I actually cannot believe how much has changed since then//see that post here. Ella Jane is really growing and we are now seeing the doctor weekly. This past visit they told us she is growing right on track and they anticipate she will be a 7 - 7.5 pound baby! We will know more with each visit and as we get closer, and we are getting so anxious.
To be totally honest with everything we have had going on, until the past few weeks we have not even been able to stop and come to the realization that she is about to be here! Tyler has been recovering and had his first full week back at work last week (we are so grateful!) So as things are getting back to normal we are realizing we have a lot of work to do in a short amount of time :) True to my type-A personality I have made a list, another list, a spreadsheet and emailed it to hubs with our list of things to do! :)

Our doctor recommended we take a childbirth class at the hospital where I will deliver, and we were actually wait-listed to get in (dramatic if you ask me) Anyway, we took the class last weekend and it was more information than I ever wanted to know... but we did get to tour the hospital and see the rooms, layout and know exactly where to go! I think that class made Tyler and I realize how close we really are.
My mom is heading here next week to help me finish out the nursery (cannot wait for yall to see) and help with last minute things. I am so appreciative she is coming to help!! I also have started nesting, and am doing the most ridiculous things. I told Tyler I was getting in the shower a few nights ago (it was around 9pm) and he came in our bedroom to find me steaming curtains?!?! I have also successfully hung things on the wall I didn't know we were missing, redecorated our apartment, and cooked and stocked our freezer with meals for the coming month! I have been very busy with all the things :)
As far as, "how am I doing" because thats what everyone asks at this point! I am doing good. I have battled a cold/seasonal allergies for the past 5-6 weeks which is not fun, but I do feel like I am on the mend. Currently just getting a little lot uncomfortable and thinking each day how can she possibly get any bigger in there?! So far no swelling, but I am starting to get worn out quick again!

The doctors and our class instructor encouraged us to get everything ready now, since technically she could come at any point. This means packing the hospital bag, having the nursery and her little clothes ready, and most importantly loading the carseat in the car. I died because today Tyler loaded up her carseat and everything felt real!! We had lunch together after church and when we got home he loaded this cutie up in the is so surreal!
ps: this unrecognizable man is my husband! During his time away from work, recovering from surgery, he decided he would see if he could grow facial hair... lol I would say thats a yes!

Still craving all of the ice, I have had to limit myself so my teeth survive another month! (also thanks for everyone who has reached out about this! My doctor is aware and tested me (again) for anemia, it came back negative!  It's apparently just a craving and at this point I am not turning down a zero calorie craving :)
Give me all of the baths, I seriously live in our bathtub!
Nesting is obviously a real thing, and it has set in hard these days
The Dreft has arrived (thanks amazon prime) and her laundry is about to begin!
To be totally honest I am really getting anxious too, I am constantly quoting Phillipians 4:6
I am getting serious about eating these days, like I am not missing any meals :)
She is SO active, my stomach literally dances every night. The doctor asked us to start doing "kick counts" and Tyler and I laugh because we always get to the recommended kicks in minutes!
I finally ordered a few maternity items, and returned all of them except leggings and a dress and I think my life has changed with those leggings :) haha
I am obsessed with granola, greek yogurt and fruit. I make a little parfait almost every night
We seriously say everyday "I cannot believe this is happening" and we are so excited to be parents!
Can't wait to meet you Ella Jane Barnett
