Guess who is back at it?!
SO many of you asked when I moved to Dallas what my plans were... Was I going to go back to work? Who would I work for? What would I do? To be honest I really wasn't sure!

I was desperately seeking a job that allowed me to work from home and create a work/life balance that I could happily sustain once we started a family... this was something that took lots of time and a lot of prayers! For me, I was looking for something with flexibility that let me use my creativity and skills I had built over time from working in a store and in a buying office.

Fast forward to last Fall...
Things were absolutely crazy around here! We had moved, Tyler was about to undergo a major surgery and I was entering into my third trimester with Ella Jane when I got an email from a company  called Stitch Fix requesting that I come in for an interview! I really couldn't believe the email I was reading... when I replied that I would love to meet with their team, I found out the interview was going to be three days after Tyler's neurosurgery.  I was devastated.. I knew there was no way I could make that happen with everything we had going on, but when I told Tyler about it he said "Whit you have got to go... this is such an awesome opportunity for you" Well, I went to the interview (sleep deprived and on a serious emotional rollercoaster) and just told Tyler if I got the job we knew it was meant to be because I was so distracted!

Good news is, I landed the job! I started working for Stitch Fix back in September and I work part time as a stylist. This means I can work from home (or wherever there is a wifi connection) and I can be with Ella Jane! This is a huge blessing, and although I know not everyone wants to stay home with babies it has always been my dream! ps. I wrote a paper in second grade on what I want to be when I grow up... stay at home mom was at the top of the list! followed by a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader and a gypsy (give me all the rings) Will and Ang were obviously pleased when I came home with that paper!! haha

So I am sure you are wondering...what do you do?!
As a stylist I am responsible for styling clients based on their needs, wants and requests! It is seriously SO MUCH FUN! I was so invested in my buying job back in Little Rock, I really was so sad to leave the environment, people and totally missed the idea of going to market and traveling. When I moved to Dallas I knew I was pregnant and I just couldn't commit to anything like that again with the hopes that some day I could find something working from home. It was a bit of a struggle at first to settle into not knowing what I was going to do. But it was a huge blessing because I didn't rush into anything I wasn't ready to commit to and it let me have time here to get us settled, deal with everything we had going on and most importantly take care of hubby during his surgery!
This is my first week getting back into the swing of things since Ella Jane was born. I was able to take eight weeks off to focus on our newest family member and establish a new routine for us! I am so excited to be part of such an awesome company and team here in Dallas! Styling for Stitch Fix is such a great fit for me, not only do I get to shop for others but it allows me to achieve my ultimate goal of being a stay at home mama and raising this precious baby!

Moral of my story... never give up or give in. It took lots of time, patience, and prayer to land a job that fit the lifestyle I was seeking, but now I am so grateful for it! Also, know what you want and don't settle for less than that. I had amazing opportunities but they just were not right for me at the time, so I decided to say no in order to achieve what I wanted. ps that is so much easier said than done

Here I am hanging out with my best girl after a conference call today...
She is getting so big! So thankful I am able to be home with her everyday to see her grow. I spend SO MUCH TIME in this exact spot!
Anyway, just wanted to share what I am up to and hopefully inspire some of you
*don't quit chasing your daydreams*

PS. Everyone has unique goals and dreams- just because I want to work from home and be with baby doesn't mean it is right for everyone! I think the world would be a better place if we could all just support and respect other (mamas) work wishes!  :) thats all

PSS. Found photos from the day I went to my interview!
Tyler took these and I smile looking back at them... I was hitting my third trimester and had just been home from the hospital with Tyler a few days! Milly loooveeesss to crash photos
